The author, a Chinese immigrant living in Canada, told people an unusual, sad story about the nightmare of his marriage. He went back to Shanghai looking for a women to marry with. He found one, Yang Weijia, a English lecturer at Shanghai Foreigh Studies University. He married her and later he found his wife cheated on him from day one and their marriage turned out to be a big joke.
I'm not only appealed by the story, but also by the writing in Chinese. The author claimed he came to Canada as a teen, now living and working in Canada. I'm impressed by his Chinese. The story is well written, the language flows. I am just wondering if we really stop learning anything new in our native language at teenage?
