不时会在电视电影里听到老外们说中国有句古老的诅咒或谚语
"May you live in interesting times”但中文里好像并没有
跟这句话类似的谚语(以前这里好像就讨论过)。更有意思的是,根据wiki,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_you_live_in_interesting_times这句才只是古代中国三个诅咒里的第一个。另外两个依次是
"May you come to the attention of those in authority" (sometimes rendered "May the government be aware of you"). This is sometimes quoted as "May you come to the attention of powerful people." (Alternately, "important people".)
"May you find what you are looking for." This is sometimes quoted as "May your wishes be granted."
而且它们的次序也反映curse的厉害程度,第三句最厉害。
想了半天也想不起来中文里有和这三个curse相近的谚语或
成语。而且除过第二句还算个curse,第一句和最厉害的第
三句都不make sense。这两句话的意思含混,也不符合
中国人的诅咒习惯。估计是老外们假借ancient china的名义
以表现自己有学问。
前几天还从电视上看到有人引用孔夫子的语录“Before you
embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves”,我
国学地不会,请高手说下孔老二到底有没有此话,怎么说的。
