bluebird set a nest below my mailbox, but the mail man removed the nest. they still linger near my house, just don't know where they live now.
robin had a nest in my peach tree in backyard, however all 3 chicks died, it's a very sad scene. guess the parents pushed them out to force them fly, but they failed due to malnutrition. anything to do with my frequent disturbing it? once the disturbed robin dropped one egg, i put it back to the nest. i have a veggie garden, so i had to come near the tree. if i know this tragic ending, i would have saved that beauitful blu egg as souvenir.
there's still another nest, in my plum tree, i didn't recognize the bird, maybe carolina wren, long tail, grey color. it's not as easily scared by me as robin. then i read wren likes to make multiple nests, so i don't know whether this nest will have chicks or not, we'll see.
btw i never got a plum to eat, peach this year also miserable, keeping dropping to ground,i expect few. last year i did get some, but pests are huge problems.
