Butterfly Lovers
Poem by "The Twin-Boat Sailor", Tr. Iceiron
There once was a girl
Who secretly loved a boy;
There once was a boy
Who believed not the girl he loved was a girl;
There once a crowd of people
Who allowed not a boy to love a girl;
There once was a boy
Who die of draining his tears for his love to a girl; There once was a girl
Who sacrificed her life for her love to a boy.
To love secretly, to misconceive, to grieve, and to die as an end--
This kind of stories, routinely so plain,
Having been repeated numerous times,
Yesterday even happened again,
However, with such an unexpected ending:
A pledge turned into a thunderbolt,
That tore his tomb open like the birth canal of the Earth,
Where a boy at the end of darkness
Was awaiting a girl's return
To embrace their revival after many a storm--
A butterfly silently flies toward me,
And the other lightly flies to you
