what really happened there? some report said a few unruly citizens broke police blockade and thus induces the tragedy. were they SH natives or immigrants?
i always suspect such incidents long overdue in china, from both reports and my personal experience(see the famous images of tourists in great wall, hua shan and other places), government and citizens all share blames, such as not enough police presence, and certainly unruly, reckless behaviors of many chinese, our traditional way of contempt for safety precautions (exhibits: coal mines and fire control).
i always told my relatives and friends in china, avoid crowdy places
yet i were a bit shocked when it finally happened, it was in SH! in places like wuhan or xi'an, chengdu, i fully expect the possibilities. but SH? one of the best places in china, with the highest civilization level in china?
and this bears really bad omens for china, if it could happen in SH, then of course anywhere else in china
