It is not my theory and I am not defending it. To my understanding, liberalism requires existence of rich people (necessary condition) but rich doesn't automatically leads to liberalism (not sufficient)

US is richer than many more liberal and semi-socialist countries but still relatively conservative. So other factors such as tradition obviously play some roles.
