Even in situations of mass shooting when some people are armed and and can defend, there still will be victims. Some individuals may fare better, but as a whole it would still be a losing situation, particularly for the victims. Wouldn't it be better for the whole society not to have guns so readily available to everybody, so that the potential murderers won't get their hands on guns in the first place? I just don't understand how any reasonable person can argue against that. Don't mention to me about the second amendment. That is a totally different animal, which is abused as a guise by gun lobbyist.
