I thought it was quite easy: there is no uncertainty about the trajectory of the comet and the probe. And the final impact is guided by a simple closed loop control system. Only thing that might be a problem I can think of is reliability of on-board electronics, but that's based on proven technology isn't it.

I say those LiKe at NASA are getting smarter. They've learned some skills of manipulating public opinion.
