My point in the previous post is that the successful civilizations thrived not because of superior genes, but of the endowment of their environments. In the beginning phase of civilization, with little aid from primitive technology, it is very challenging to make even a small step forward, thus the environment and luck play the dominating role in early cultural evolution.
My personal guess is that the expansion of industrial civilization will take a much more civilized form than before. Disadvantageous nations could fight back with much deadiler destruction power than American Indians could do with their primitive weapons. Meanwhile, as the economy becomes a global business and the society evolves to a much more intertwined status, the advantage derived from cooperation far exceeds that from defection. It is more beneficial to cooperate with a friendly developing country than to conquer the land only harvesting hatred and retaliation.
Negotiation and politics would play the central role that used to belong to military.
