Pizza were not entirely Italian food either, the Pizza that Americans are munching here is different from the thin-crusted one in Italy. As long as it sells, who cares whether it is authentic or not. If authenticity is what you are after, then perhaps we should ditch most dishes and go back BBQ without sauce since that was certainly the cuisine of choice when we were camping out in the caves tens of thousand of years ago.
