you probably had done a nice work, at least your own work. We all learn language from copying others' sentences. When you you say "I love you", do you have to cite the first one who said this? Like classic music, millions of sentences do not have copyright. You can use them free.

The reason we say he was cheating in that article is because he copied others' idea as well. New idea is the life of an article. Good cheaters only copy your idea, but not your sentences, but bad ones copy both. What about you have your own good idea, just don't know how to express it in good English? The scientist is not litterateur.
