When I first came to the U.S., I had an American roommate who’s only a high school graduate. Because we have many people in this house, one time some of us parked his car across the street in front of someone else’s house. That home-owner wasn’t happy. But this roommate of mine said, “Hey, it’s a public road. We all pay taxes so we have equal right to park there. Don’t worry.”
Many Chinese, even after they get their master’s, ph.d., even after they become a professor, still don’t know the fundamental human rights, for example, that Chinese guy who curses and beats his ph.d. students.
So what use is the stupid Chinese education? What use is knowing the true meaning of “Qi Yue Liu Huo” if you can’t even match an ordinary high school graduate from U.S. on those more important day-to-day situations?
This obsession about “Qi Yue Liu Huo” has to stop.
