I am by no means an expert in this subject, just happen to have read some introductory books and become really enthusiastic. E. Wilson, as JZ has mentioned, is the founder of the field that used to be dubbed sociobiology and now is named evolutionary psychology. It's a young and fascinating field that aims to unite the Two Cultures, yet pitfalls remain in the methodology given the immaturity of the field. Still, it's a promising direction with its foundation laid on the firm ground of evolution theory.

Robert Wright wrote several introductory books, e.g., The Moral Animal, Nonzero. You might want to read Richard Dawkins's Selfish Gene first for Wright developed some ideas in it.

Wilson's many books are a pleasure to read due to his specialization in the field, his eruditeness, and his skillful writing. On Human Nature contains excellent discourse and Consilience extends the ideas futher. Biophilia, Diversity of Life, Naturalist all make wonderful reading as well.
