People will change life style based on SuanZhang when the oil price goes up to an unsustainable level.
There is plenty of oil and gas in the ground. The price hike is mostly caused by perceived supply shortage due to low inventory and maybe logistics problems. I don't see the cost of exploring energy reserves and pumping out these things has risen significantly in th elast couple of years so the premium you are paying mostly turns into profits for oil&gas companies. It's stupid to give away the money while not to take a share of the profit. It's more stupid to spend even more on these energy saving gadgets. These things may take more energy to build and to recycle at the end of their operating life cycle who knows.
