know L-n norm. Althought the idea can be taught, I guess, it is rather hard. But Geometric and arithematic means shouldn't be to hard for a 5 grader. Again, I still don't think it solves the problem, since a 5 by 5 by 5 thin iron plate/sheet won't stand very well, it is too heavy.
