I connected to internet back in late '92, using a borrowed unix account and a 2400bps modem. I still remember the slow-rolling screen while reading soc.culture.* and the excitement when I first discovered IRC.
In '93, I surprisingly saw chinese characters on a Sun Sparc 10 workstation (yes, that's ACT).
In '94, Mosaic was out. And I realized that internet is something you can "browse".
In '95 I built my first personal homepage. Before the year closes something called "Java" became the buzzing word.
In '96 I made my first on-line purchase...for a 33600 modem. This is said to be the top-notch product at the time :-)
.... ....
Alas...those good ole'days...when every turn of the year is a new frontier. It's good to be young and irresponsible...it's great you can always "boldly go where no man had gone before". :-)
