回答: DN did you no harm, but you want to have engine braking 由 PhonyDoctorPhD 于 2005-1-23, 22:58:11:

"Therefore, the safest, recommended approach to 长距离下坡 is to engage in low gear". This statement is correct only when the shift of gear is done at the right speed range. Otherwise you are running the risk of damaging your transmission. For example, you should obviously not shift your gear to the fourth or third gear when the speed of your car is above 60 mph. The correct way is to use your break to slow down the speed to the right speed range first and then shift the gear to the lower gear to further slowdown the speed with the engine and repeat this process if you want to stop your car. On the other hand, I think we should start from (engage in) low gear to apply bigger driving power before we shift to high gears when we go up hills.

The "hill decent" control feature is to help those whe don't want to care about the "speead range" for shifting gears.
