However those "thou shall not steal/lie etc" are quite universal ethics in most of the cultures. It's unfair to atribute it to Christianity (and those are also dogmas for Islam/Judaism too).
"Rule of law" is more likely to originate from the feudal system, more likely a convention comes out from the lack of a powerful central government. Of course, you can say the feudal system originate from Christianity...but I doubt that's far-fretched....
