As I said, I've never denied the fact that modern democracy as a polical system is indeed originated Greek and Rome. But the key word here is "DIRECT link".
Is England's parlimentary system a product of (or originated from) the Renaissance? I don't think so.
But is it possible to have today's democratic system without the Enlightenment? I think not.
The system we have today, is a DIRECT product of the Enlightenment Movement. If you take INDIRECT links into consideration, you can trace as far back as you want. History is a continuem :-)
