I recently read a article regarding operational deficiency in a typical chinese organization. The author asserts that chinese are good at carrying out discrete tasks but poor at optimizing all the processes in a value chain. The author also observed that in a typical chinese organization there lacks a culture of generating initiatives. His opinion is "This subtle deficiency is reflected in the absence of a chinese term for the very concept of "trade-off" ".
But I think there is already a chinese term for "trade-off": SuanZhang, although it is yet to be widely accepted.
