The reasoning is that it increased teh chance of being
killed by car or truck or bus. In retrospect, I
was both thankful and mad. I was mad because
not beable to ride a bike not only deprived me
of convinience but also more importantly it dealt a heavy blow to my self-esteem-- you can imagine
how painful it was to see other fellow kids ride bike while you could not. On the other hand, I maybe should
be gratful. Heaven know if a fatal accident would
have happened to me if I rode a bike a lot then.
But either way, it was not correct to say "If
you want to reduce teh chance to be killed by
a atomobile, do not ride a bike"
