A jogger died Saturday after a car crossed four lanes of traffic and hit him as he ran along the shoulder of Duvall Avenue.

Police have not released the name of the 37-year-old jogger or the 34-year-old Renton-area man whose Saturn hit him Saturday at about 12:40 p.m. According to Renton police, the victim was jogging southbound on the shoulder of the northbound lanes in the 900 block of Duvall Avenue when the Saturn, traveling southbound, hit him from behind.

The car continued into a culvert and up an embankment before coming to rest at a fence.

The jogger died at Harborview Medical Center at about 7 p.m.
