Beyond the Chinese Face, by Michael Harris Bond, Oxford University Press, 1991
This book provides review and in-depth analysis of Chinese culture, education, way of thinking, social and organisational behavior, from a western scholar's perspective. I like this book not because it says something new, but it uses scientific language to describe well known traits, phenomenon and behavioral patterns within high context chinese culture, things are traditionally described by metaphors, parallels and figure of speech. More importantly, the author provides various deep insights using a wide range of references and methodology. I like it because the author leaves no room for ambiguity.
The book is quite academic. It's not very good for casual reading. I think I have lost a good number of brain cell to finsh the reading.
