I believe her analyses are sound. But a sound analysis on vague hypothesis won't solidify the hypothesis.
Probably one needs to find some individual studies, or simply run a geographical variation anayses on Chinese data (by province for example, or more desirably by county). This should be fairly easy to do.
A letter to editor would do. A grand paper would be desirable but is too much.
