Some old peasant 王老五s do (buy) wives from Vietnam. That's why I said "ome of my relatives do have Vietnamese wife." But it won't happen for young people, because young people have more chance to meet friends, so they are not that deperate to get wife from Vietnam. Yes, we(local people) think it's a shame to have a wife from Vietnam.
As for 京族, that's a different story. 京族 was called 越族, because they are from Vietnam, like 朝鲜族 in North-East. I'm not familiar with them.
