把psycho的好帖抬上来,讨论问题要有起码的水准,现在瞎起哄的不少。

I listen to you and take notes dutifully, like every time in the past。 Of course we know intragroup variation is larger than intergroup's in many cases. But I can not take your advice of being silent on the matter because

1) there is an atmosphere of arrogance in this forum these days, and this is a very unhealth sentiment, especially to mental workers, especially this arrogance orginates some illusory "group merits".

2) WKSN (whatever it means) consistutes a direct offense to women. It IS a discriminative term. Many people had pointed out many times. It's so horrible people are so numb on their discrimination. Maybe this discriminative opinion had rooted in their mind subconciously.

"以这些年来的“(负)积累”看,“文科”被人看不起还是有些理由的。" might be true in China, simply because humanities had been deliberately hijacked by ideology. What I had stressed again and again is that field is not important and methodologies are not soly guide on which field is "better"--because methodologies are mostly limted by the object of research. Scholastic standard--rigor, evidence based spirit, is the most important. 合格的理科出身 of course should see it, as should 合格的文科出身 but I doubt, from what I had read, 合格的理科出身 are not abundant. Many people even implies: Scientists can master humanities as long as they want, but humanitist can not master science. That's not true. Now every subject is highly specialized, and we should respect others. Alas, this is something we should have learned in Kintergarden.
