回答: is J11 a copycat of Su-27? if yes, still out of date 由 炎阳 于 2006-1-06, 14:24:05:

The framework of fighter can last a long long time.
Though the Su27 was designed in the 60s, it has undergone
major upgrades and it has developed into a full line
of aircrafts that are still top of the line in many
aspects.

For example, Su27K (or something similar) is still
the standard issue fighter of Russian Air Force.

Russian fighters are known for their power and
simplicity. What they lack is good electronics.
Therefore, a line of Su27 has a lot of room to grow.

If fact, many countries are still using older
generation of aircrafts, such as Mig21, F-5 etc.
It is still a big business upgrading the radar
and/or electronic systems for those 50s fighter.

Chinese airforce got a major upgrade going to Su27.
It is shot in the arm. It was not so bad.
