回答: Grain is the major source of energy. 由 HunHunSheng 于 2005-2-15, 16:47:34:

the main ingredients in grains are carbohydrates and proteins (less than 20%, for rice, about 10%?). Almost all other foods can replace grains. Meat have fat and proteins. Fat can be used as energy. Even proteins can be converted to glucose.

That's why even though Eskimos mainly eat meat and fish, they are doing just fine.

Futhermore, proteins in grains are of very poor quality. Most vegans have to resort to beans or eggs to get additional proteins.
