language and I would not be surprised the optimization could be done better. Still it is up to the actual compiler implementation.

I think there probably less effort spent on the fortran compilers nowadays and it is a matter of time, if not already, that frotran is not the fastest computing language any more.

No matter how fast frotran is I would rather not use it.:)
