I don't see anything wrong w/ selling (one's own) and buying organs PER SE.

Like selling blood. Buying organ to keep yourself alive is so natural, if that's allowed by the law.

What I deplore is a society where people have to make a living (for themselves/family) by selling blood and organs(quite essential to make your body function). The traders involve isn't more or less moral than you or me. What's wrong is the society to make it happen.

Chances to reproduce is another story. Your life would be less fullfilled without children, but children (ex ante) usually are not important as our own body (though there are people willing to kill themselves for their kids ex post). On average, people willing to forgo children to get money will be a worse parent than those unwilling to.

The trade of reproduction right doesn't even involve any form of life--not even a "life" of a fetus. What's wrong with it per se?

Of course, Shockley is denouncable, not because he offered this trade, but for the implication of offering this trade. He showed his discrimination by doing so. By the way, racists and those discriminating low-IQ people are not evil (as long as they don't harm others). They are holding views different from us (again, self-proclaim) normal and decent people and letting us extremely uncomfortable. I personally think that's one form of stupidity plus a bit morbidity. You are free to choose your choice of word like socialpath, psychopath etc.

Ziyu's original post has some bugs. I almost jumpped to refute. But his/her later posts sounds very reasonable.
