It appears that Dr. Kass is badly misinformed on the issue that Mr. Fang (Dr. Fang, actually) "is an individual who is reported to have published research that was not his". Dr. Fang wrote a popular science essay for a newspaper to introduce research results by other scientists to the general public, a fact that was clearly stated in the essay itself and recognized by Science magazine in its response to Dr. Xiao's accusation.

It is disappointing that a learned scholar such as Dr. Kass would speak on this issue based on hearsay.
