Dr. Kass
Let me be clear that I'm one of the supporters of Dr. Fang. I helped translate from Chinese to English some of the investigative news articles, which were later used as supporting materials for the open letter mentioned in the comments by New Threads Volunteers.
I'm very disappointed to see that your comments did not reflect at all the scientific standard of a researcher of your statue. You have tried to avoid the substantial questions raised by New Threads Volunteers and Dr. Shi-min Fang, while continued to spread the unconsolidated false accusations.
Could you please respond upfront to the questions in the comments posted by New Threads Volunteers and Dr. Shi-min Fang?
1. Have you ever helped to disseminate the false information that "the procedure is now standard of care in China"?
2. On what basis you said that the procedure was used on human beings "after many years research"? (Which clearly is not true according to the materials collected in New Thread Volunteers' comment)
3. Could you show the publication of Dr. Fang which you have accused of plagiarism?
You have tried to defend the practices in Beaumont, which, in my own opinions, are indeed less controversial. But don't try to use this to justify what Xiao did in China before the trials in US had even started.
And, perhaps you are speaking for your team in Beaumont, but I don't think you can speak for the scientific community, certainly not the people "throughout the world". With all due respects, I feel very offended to be "represented" by you without my consent.
It's ironic to see the parallel between your acts and what Xiao had done before. While you may have ample credential in your research, your posts have put a great dent on it. This is exactly what has happened to Xiao. While he and many others including you had accused that Dr. Fang had been discrediting him, what discredited him was exactly what he said and what he did, but nothing else.
