Excuse me, please. South Korea has admitted that they fired the shots as part of a military drill. North Korea asked them to stop and when they didn't, North Korea, justifiably, fired back. If the NY Times is going to tell the story, at least get the chronology correct and lay out the facts as they really happened. Not some jingoistic claptrap and blame energy.
Don't forget to add, when discussing North Korea's nuclear capabilities, that the Clinton and Bush administrations played a key role in helping Kim Jong-Il develop North Korea’s nuclear prowess from the mid 1990’s onwards. And, just as with Saddam Hussein’s chemical and biological weapons program, it was Donald Rumsfeld who played a key role in arming Kim-Jong-Il. In April 2002, the Bush administration announced that it would release $95 million of American taxpayer’s dollars to begin construction of the ‘harmless’ light water reactors in North Korea. Construction of the reactors was eventually suspended, but North Korea had an alternative source through which they could obtain the nuclear secrets vital to building an atom bomb arsenal – CIA asset and international arms smuggler AQ Khan.
So the Great Game continues. All is not as it seems. And the American sheeple get their news filtered through a government mouthpiece that fails to check the facts and parrots they party line. This time things got a bit nasty. But at least it's taken the buzz off the TSA and their unconstitutional groping and violating of our rights. "
