To me, 山寨 mainly copies and clones, and there isn't any innovation. Dell on the other hand, innovate the distribution. My dad used to own a small 山寨, well he was one of the partner, making electronic watches. It was popular at that time in HK. However, it is hard to sustain due to the fact, the margin is too low.
