http://www.rainbowplan.org/bbs/topic.php?topic=121077&select=&forum=1On May 16, 1995, while studying in the department of biochemistry at MSU as a Ph. D. student, Fang wrote a science philosophy essay, in Chinese, What Is Science. The essay was published on internet shortly after being written, and kept ever since on Fang’s own website New Threads in the Collections of Fang Zhouzi’s Poems and Essays (《方舟子诗文集》, see: [www.xys.org]). The theme of the essay is about how to determine if a theory is scientific.
According to Fang, a scientific theory must comply with all four sets of criteria, i.e. logical, empirical, sociological, and historical criteria. Each criterion consists of 2 to 4 sub-standards. In the essay, Fang did not cite a single piece of reference, and he did not mention any other author’s name.
It appears that the whole content of that writing belongs to Fang himself.
