There were a couple things contributing the falling apart of negotiation between Digital Research and IBM but non of them related golfing. There were different accounts from the two parties of the same events, but what both agreed that DR were unwilling to sign nondisclosure agreement with IBM. Dorothy Kidall, the wife of Gary Kidall with him she cofounded the company handled the meeting with IBM negotiator. She didn't sign the agreement based on the company attorney's recommendation. Gary at the time were delivering software to another client. IBM pulled off the negotiation as the final result. CP/M wasn't selected as the OS for IBM PC.
