Strictly speaking, they are not southern people.
As a matter of fact, northern people including Beijing, are obnoxiously rude. I was shocked when I first talked to northeast people. Most of them can't talk without saying B.
I have to admit that southern people are also rude but we don't talk with reproductive organs.
