2005年院士候选人、南开大学廖代正在发表的论文被揭发抄袭

Editor's Corrrection

In a recent Short Communication Dai-Zheng Liao and coworkers [1] 
report on ¨A Novel 3-D HeterobimetallicCyano-bridged Coordination 
Polymer Incorporating AgAg Interaction: 
[Cu(dien)Ag(CN)2][Ag2(CN)3]-[Ag(CN)2]¨. The same compound was 
published by the Canadian group of Daniel B. Leznoff [2] among 
relatedcomplexes in Inorganic Chemistry two years ago, which was not 
referenced in the later article. Furthermore,more than half of the 
introduction, the majority of the references, and even parts of the 
structural descriptionhave been copied word for word from Leznoff's 
paper. Professor Liao informed the editors of ZAAC that hisgraduate 
student H.-B. Zhou wrote the paper, whereas the other authors were not 
aware of the priority to Leznoff's group. Professor Liao, as the 
corresponding author, takes the responsibility, and he apologizes 
toProfessor Leznoff also on behalf of the coauthors.

On the other hand, it is doubtless that Liao's group prepared the 
compound by a slightly different route andsolved the crystal structure 
of the cyano complex independently as can be supposed comparing the 
data.The editors of Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. deeply regret this incident.
