It doesn't mean much. Lessons I learned:
1. It's easy to create/tune certain benchmarks that show better with some configuration;
2. Other metrics besides the reported ones should also be considered;
3. Pure performance data may look good, but it's important to know which components in the stack really contribute;
4. TCO of a certain solution means much more than benchmarks can tell;
5. A good solution may not be considered good by customers. The chances to change the customers' opinion are not very high.
