Playing with ideas(like this) is a luxury. The society could not afford a lot of these researches. Since he is a nobel prize winner, he has the privilege to get funding for doing this kind of research.
It is a good practice, I never denied it. However, since he is doing this kind of research, it doesn't prove that 超常现象 do exist or not. I do hope(and believe) he could do some quality work, even if his conclusions were wrong. It is part of endeavors to understand nature.
