even head-on conflicting opinions and ideas are quite common in a society with freedom of expression. The typical Chinese mentality is that there must be an exclusive opinion on a certain issue or a unified opinion is always preferred, that is the inevitable consequence of decades of CCP education. Many ideas they hold dear for life are actually irrational, baseless and toxic. (I'm talking about the elite professionals of mainland China origin who have received American training, not ordinary Chinese immigrants who would never realize how abnormal they are and will carry their own firewall for life.)
