That's great. Welcome on board!

Assessing impact, both in terms of environment and people's livelihood, is a very important but challenging topic these days.

I am working on the biological side, but I strongly feel that the economists play much more important role in all the projects I involved. The donors usually need an “ex ante” impact assessment in the first place!

The link here gives one case study. However, I am qualified to judge how good the work is. You can find more info from their website.

You may find other case studies from the website of ODI (Oversea Development Institute, UK) at:

http://www.odi.org.uk/nrp/45.html

There are more case studies in the literature they cited.
