这封信是为了维护integrity of science，还是为了回应对科学家违反scientific integrity的批评？哪一个地方为后者做了辩护？
为什么用这个标题，很简单，起草者Gleick长期以来就认为反环保人士在威胁着科学完整性。他领导的机构几年前就有一个Integrity of Science项目是专门来回应环境问题上的反科学、伪科学的思潮的，那是在什么气候门之前就有了。2007年Gleick在国会上就气候变化与科学完整性问题作证时，题目就叫“Threats to the Integrity of Science.”批评联邦政府在过去几年用种种办法有系统地破坏科学研究过程的完整性。（For the last several years, there have been growing indications of systematic challenges and threats at the federal level to the integrity of the scientific process using a variety of
strategies and tactics.）那和什么“科学诚信”有啥关系？
