the reporters don't even know what SHA-1 is, and don't know what Wang's discover is. Wang's result is that the collsion of SHA-1, a crypto hash function, can be found with 2^69 operations, which the exhaustive search needs 2^80. I haven't seen the details of Wang's work, but it is pretty impressive, however, all these reporters, calling them idiots is an insult to all idiots.
