If the illegal search is done by nongovernment folks,
it can still be accepted in crminal courts. For example,
if police enter someone's apartment without probable caouse and find a kilo of marijuna, the DA can not enter that into the evidence. But if the landlord enter
his apartment without any reason and find the sustance and report to the police who then come to seice the substance, it still can enter into the evidence.
(of course, if the landlord did this as requested
by the police, then it is treated like the police
search)

and in civil trials, the rule of evidence is even more loose, even the evidence colleted by police in illegal search may be entered into the evidence in courts
